Holy Angels Church underwent Phase 1 and Phase 2 of an extensive interior restoration,with rag rolled lower wals behind altar, decorative painting, and faux-marbleizing, gold leafing and oil paintings. It is shown here with the front and altar nearly completing phase #1

Faux-Marbleizing



[right]Faux-marblizing was applied to the columns using the shades of existing marble at Holy Angels.

[bottom]The capitals were crowned with the newly painted angels.

The prayer translated as "Queen of Angels Pray for Us" originally behind the altar, was redone with an appropriate font in gold leaf on a dark blue background.

Celtic Ceiling Cross



This modified Celtic cross was done to enhance and accent Holy Angels' ceiling's matrix.

It was a collaborative effort and a challenge due to the undulating vaulted ceiling on which it was painted.

Shown [bottom] with the ceiling painted a fesh white with gold accents on the arch's ornaments

Sacred Hearts of Jesus and St.Mary


Oil paintings by Timothy Englert. These were installed to replace the sacred hearts that were here years ago but painted over.

East Arcade
Mural of the Coronation


East Arcade was done for Phase 2. Ceiling in white with ribs done two tones of gray. Walls in off white. Columns marblized and angels on capitals and stations of the cross decorated.

Part of the restoration plans included a mural the Coronation Of Mary, which is the 5th Glorious Mystery of the Roman Catholic Faith. The Coronation was originally was part of Holy Angels sanctuary mural.

Full Interior Painting and Stations of the Cross
Winter 2007

Sisters of Mercy Chapel underwent full interior painting,
with gold decorating, and faux-marbleizing on the stations of the cross.
It is shown here nearly completed

The Painting Process from Old to New




Primer is applied first.(white)

Then the ribs were painted grey and striped in dark blue to enhance the dramatic vaulting of Sisters of Mercy Chapel.

An off white, "Cameo White", was applied to the main body.

Finally gold paint applied to enhance the vault clusters.

St Mary's is one of the oldest rural Catholic churches in Western New York. Built in 1850. a classic country church located in the peaceful village of East Eden New York. St Mary's underwent a mural repair, decorating, and faux-marbleizing.

St. Michael's R.C. Church is a beloved landmark and popular place of worship for Catholics throughout Western New York. In the above photo we see the job near completion with walls and ceilings painted, windows and ceiling accented, and to the extreme right one of the two front columns that were marblized.

Ascension R. C. Church, North Tonawanda, NY underwent an extensive restoration and decoration in the winter of 2005. To our left we see applied mable painting on the shaft accented with red and gold paint on the capital.
